It all started when…
In 2018 the Royal Air Force entered its 100th year and the Chinook Display Team, based at RAF Odiham, set itself big targets for outreach and engagement with the public; including young people and enthusiasts with a growing passion for aviation. The RAF100 campaign was widespread and in the months leading up to the start of the display season the team’s manager, Master Aircrew Vince Bartlett, was working closely with Land Rover UK to establish whether they would support the display crew and engineers with a vehicle that could transport a planned show ground trailer, inflatable tent and demonstration equipment to venues across the UK, ahead of the aircraft. When Land Rover generously offered that support a new project began in working out how to wrap that vehicle in a professional and recognisable manner.
This project was completed within the Ministry of Defence and not under Dynamic Vectors. It serves only as an illustration of what some of our designers can do.
A huge automotive project, it was a great privilege to be involved with the rebranding of the display team. It was a great surprise to hear that the Discovery went on to win 3M’s quarterly award for best vehicle wrap in the UK and was nominated nationally in the annual competition for 2018.
