USAFE 48th MXO
USAFE 48th MXO
PLEASE NOTE: THIS PATCH IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC SALE
The 48th MXO have come to Dynamic Vectors as they required a ‘kick ass’ patch, reaching a level of complexity that exceeds all others! We were very pleased to help them bring their concepts to reality.
The MXO is the maintenance organisation that oversees many aspects of USAFE F-35A and F-15E engineering at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, England. Having overall responsibility for weapons, engine management, unit deployment, training and quality assurance, the roles of its people are diverse. The MXO also incorporates the Air Force Repair Enhancement Programme (AFREP) bay, which looks at innovative methods to extend component life or solve problems unique to the 48th Fighter Wing in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
The brief was simple - design a patch that incorporates a highly elaborate phoenix at its centre, and which features the Lightning II and Strike Eagle, which the MXO supports. The 48th MXO asked us to create a full-colour ‘Friday patch’ and also a version that adopts the colours of the Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP); matching USAF standards so that all of its personnel can wear the subdued version during the rest of the working week!
Unfortunately, at the request of the 48th MXO, these patches are not available for public sale as the team at Lakenheath has asked that it be exclusive to USAFE personnel who serve within its ranks.
