RAF VALLEY 'CREAMIE' BUNDLE
RAF VALLEY 'CREAMIE' BUNDLE
We’re pleased to release a brand-new set of patches designed by our friends up at RAF Valley. They feature a fun twist on some of their favourite colloquialisms.
The coloured milk bottle designs feature the terms ‘Creamie’, ‘Screamie’ and ‘Skimmie’ which are used as terms to describe pilots who excel during Texan and Hawk training and are immediately assigned to instructional roles. They then teach new pilots coming through the same courses.
Skimmie refers to those who are fast-tracked to become a Texan instructor, following the Basic Fast Jet Training (BFJT) course.
Screamies are pilots who have completed the first half of the course which constitutes their Advanced Fast Jet Training (AFJT) and who are selected to become an instructor on the Hawk.
Creamie refers to those who have also completed the tactical course and trained in employment of the Hawk as a weapons system, before being ‘creamed off the top’ of the group to become Hawk instructors. This advanced level sits just prior to the point where students progress by leaving RAF Valley and passing to the Operational Conversion Units and their first front-line type, such as Typhoon or F-35.
These patches are only being produced as a very limited run so will only be released as a set.
