RAF LXX SQUADRON A400M ATLAS
RAF LXX SQUADRON A400M ATLAS
What a great joy it is to be unveiling the new full-colour and tactical patches for 70 Squadron, of the Royal Air Force.
At the centre of the design is the instantly identifiable demi-wing lion, which has been at the core of the Squadron’s official badge since its inception. We were privileged to be engaged by Wing Commander Calvin Bailey, Officer Commanding LXX Squadron, who wanted to create something unique in time for his departure from Brize Norton. A front profile of the A400M Atlas sits at the base of the design, with the Union Flag at its top and majestic lion forming the centrepiece.
LXX Squadron intend to utilise the full-colour version on flying suits when at home in the UK and then switch to the tactical version if employed overseas on tasks in support of UK Defence and international requirements. We wish them the best of luck in the future and hope they can wear this patch with an enduring sense of pride as they go about that important work.
