RAF EX COBRA WARRIOR 24-2
RAF EX COBRA WARRIOR 24-2
We’re pleased to unveil the official patch for RAF Exercise Cobra Warrior 24-2. Unfortunately, Exercise Cobra Warrior 24-1 in April this year was cancelled so we’re very pleased to see this September’s exercise go ahead.
Organised twice a year by 92 Squadron, based at the Air & Space Warfare Centre at RAF Waddington, Cobra Warrior is the RAF’s capstone large-scale flying exercise, where participants employ composite air operations to achieve military objectives in testing and contested threat environments.
Numerous nations attend the exercise during each iteration, learning to operate their different aircraft types together, to achieve the effects required on an enemy force which is well-equipped and capable of inflicting damage in return. Integration of partner nations’ capabilities with those of the UK is a key objective during the exercise and this patch is intended to give each pride in their involvement and also act as a memento when they finally return home.
As with the first Cobra Warrior patch back in September 2023, it features 92 Squadron symbology at its core - notably the cobra which alludes to the Squadron’s links to India in the Second World War. However, 92 Squadron have refreshed the design with some new colours for this Exercise. Around the perimeter, the Squadron’s yellow and red chequerboard is proudly displayed.
We are grateful to 92 Squadron for bringing this project to us and honoured to be able to form an enduring symbol for this remarkable exercise.
