Introducing our latest patch, crafted for 27 Squadron and featuring their iconic elephant mascot in all its glory.

This angry caricature of ‘Nellie’ has the awesome M134 Minigun at its fingertips, one of two defensive weapons fitted to the UK’s Chinooks. The colours of the Squadron adorn the backdrop to the patch, with the enormous Chinook Mk5 also depicted - making this the first patches out there to display this variant in so much detail.

Additional elements requested from the squadron include the lightning in the background, which truly brings the patch to life and recognises the day and night capabilities of this mighty machine and its crews.

It’s been great working with the Chinook Force again this year, to create such a powerful patch. These are already on the arms of air crew and engineers across 27 Squadron and we hope a few lucky enthusiasts are able to enjoy them also, as we release a very limited run to the public.
