After a long time ‘under cover’ we’re very pleased to unveil this patch, which was commissioned by the RAF’s II(AC) Squadron before they deployed on Operation SHADER.

For security reasons we have elected not to release this patch whilst the Squadron is in theatre but are pleased to be able to offer a few to general sale, now they have returned from a safe and successful detachment.

At the centre of the patch is the characteristic wake knot, which symbolises II(AC) Squadron and, along with their motto ‘Hereward,’ takes its inspiration from Anglo-Saxon history.

At the head of the patch, the top edge is defined by the shape of the Rubb hangars installed at the forward operating base utilised by the Typhoons on Operation SHADER. Below the canvas can be seen silhouettes of support equipment and the hard working engineering team who dispatch each jet on operational sorties; all superimposed against the Union Flag. Not to mention the classic triangular motif of II(AC) Squadron which dates far back through its Cold War history.

At the forefront of the design is the incredible Typhoon aircraft, captured in a climb and displaying an awesomely impressive weapon load beneath its wings. Featured are the Litening targeting pod, Paveway IV precision guided bombs, Brimstone missiles and dual ASRAAM missiles at its wing tips.

The intricate details in this patch have pushed PVC technology to the edge and we are incredibly honoured to have been asked to contribute to the proud operational history of this most excellent Squadron.
