We are ecstatic to be able to release our first patch of 2023 and for it to be the official patch for the German Army’s NH90 Display Team.

This blistering display from the Airbus Helicopters (formerly NHIndustries) NH90 TTH is a must-see performance at any display that it attends, with the aircraft flown very dynamically right to the edge of its performance.

Its appearance at the Royal International Air Tattoo in 2022 was a highlight of the show and it is well worth seeing at others across Europe when the chance arises.

The team’s aircrew are great ambassadors for their nation and enthusiastic about their machine so our patch was built around a front profile of this sleek helicopter with the German national flag depicted behind, in the shape of the country they represent.

The German Army received the NH90 in 2006 and in doing so became the type’s first operational user, eventually amassing a total of 82 aircraft. The Tactical Transport Helicopter (TTH) version differs from the other variant - the navalised NATO Frigate Helicopter (NFH) in that is configured for trooping and support missions as opposed to the maritime mission. Much of the machine is built in Germany, including the fuel system - notably, the display profile is flown with two decorated external tanks, which is an impressive sight on this nimble helicopter; so our patch captures it from an angle that clearly shows that configuration.

We sincerely hope to see more of this fantastic display in years ahead and it has been an honour to craft this display patch for a firm favourite amongst rotary-wing displays!
